Morro Bay Women's Golf Club

The weather smiled on the Morro Bay Women's Golf Club's 2026 Monarch Invitational Member-Guest Tournament on Thursday, October 15, and there was plenty to celebrate both on and off the course!

Players and guests enjoyed a beautiful day of golf, friendly competition, camaraderie, and fundraising in support of the Morro Bay High School Girls Golf Team.

A special thank-you goes to tournament organizer Carolyn Shank, whose hard work and enthusiasm helped bring it all together, along with the many volunteers, sponsors, and supporters who made the day possible.

More Than $9,000 Raised!

And what a fundraising success! Preliminary numbers show that our fundraising efforts have brought in more than $9,000 to support the MBHS Girls Golf Team!

From raffle tickets to generous contributions, the support for our local girls golf program was tremendous. Thank you to everyone who helped make it happen!

Meanwhile, the Pirates Were Making News of Their Own!

While the Monarch Invitational was underway, the MBHS Girls Golf Team was delivering an outstanding performance of its own.

Several players shot personal bests, and the team finished an impressive 19 strokes better than the CIF qualifying standard!

With only the top 16 team scores advancing, the Pirates are still awaiting official confirmation. But we believe this may be the first time in school history that an MBHS girls golf team has posted a CIF-qualifying score.

Way to go, Pirates! 🏴‍☠️⛳
